Gatewood's Upper School expands and further refines the programs begun in the earlier years. Working closely together, administration and faculty provide the strong curricular continuity that is the hallmark of an outstanding college preparatory school. Gatewood offers Honors classes at all levels. Formal preparation for the SAT begins in seventh grade and continues each year. Exceptional students are allowed to take courses above grade level. Electives enrich the traditional college preparatory curriculum as well as a variety of independent study programs. Clubs and teams give young people opportunities to develop leadership, a spirit of cooperation, and service to others.
