Gatewood is divided into the Lower School, the Middle School, and the High School. The Lower School consists of K3 through fifth grade. During these early years, Gatewood maintains close communication and interaction with parents, an essential factor in the successful progress of a child. Gatewood’s Middle School consists of grades six through eight. Because these are important transitional years for students, the curriculum and other activities are designed for the special needs of young adolescents. Gatewood’s High School expands and further refines the programs begun in the earlier years. Its core curriculum enhanced by elective offerings provides a strong college activities to be an essential and wholesome part of young people’s lives. Gatewood provides opportunities for participation and leadership in athletics, literary events, clubs, and community service.
