Gatewood Schools was established in 1970 by some very committed, hard working parents and friends to not only provide a good quality educational opportunity for the students but also to provide an environment that fostered personal growth, love, and a sense of belonging through athletic and literary events. Since its beginning, Gatewood’s student body has grown year by year. The original vision of the founders continues to be nourished by the support of parents, friends, and alumni of Gatewood.
Each year the Alumni Association hosts one major fund raising event. This event has been very successful and continues to grow each year thanks to your support. Its success and growth has allowed us to help the school with the purchase of items that were not affordable through tuition alone. Throughout the years, the Alumni Association has given well over $600,000 to Gatewood Schools; this year alone we raised just over $67,000! This allowed us to fulfill our annual commitment to the general budget and to purchase a new 15-passenger Starcraft Allstar Coach complete with a large rear storage area, comfortable seating and DVD player with a 17” screen. This vehicle will replace the current 15-passenger van. Again, our success comes from a hard working Alumni Association and great supporters like you. I can’t thank you enough for your commitment to helping us make a great school greater. More information about this upcoming event will be posted as it starts coming together. If you have never had the opportunity to be a part of our wonderful event, we invite you to come and join the fun this spring at our annual Alumni Auction!
We have also decided to restart the Buy-a-Brick campaign in order to finish out the walkway at the football field. This will give you the opportunity to declare your support for Gatewood School “in stone” and allow us to continue the walk to the home side stands. These personally engraved bricks make great gifts ideas, memorials, or can be used to honor someone in a special and unique way. Your message can be on two lines with 14 characters per line. All you need to do is complete the order form that can be downloaded from this site and get it back to the school office with your check. These will be sold on a first come basis until our need is met.
Thank you all for your support.
