History of the GLO Campus
The Gatewood Lake Oconee (GLO Campus) had its start as Redeemer Episcopal Academy as a vision only a few short years ago. Realizing the need for a world-class educational facility in the Lake Oconee area, a group of community leaders, educators, business owners, parishioners and parents came together to formulate the future of Redeemer Episcopal Academy.
Efforts were led by Dr. John Cooper, a highly sought-after educational consultant, former teacher, principal, school superintendent and university professor from upstate New York.
On December 16, 2011, Gatewood Headmaster, Chris Charles, announced that the Gatewood Schools Board of Directors and the Redeemer Episcopal Academy Board of Trustees have entered into an agreement to join forces to educate the children of the greater lake ocare including Putnam, Greene, Morgan and Baldwin counties. Under this agreement, Redeemer merged into Gatewood Schools. Both boards recognized that by combining the resources and the best ideas from both schools, we can provide the best education for the children in the area.
