With the school year well under way, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to the Gatewood family. My name is Libby Rainey and I have recently been named the Director of Advancement & Development for Gatewood Schools. Some of my duties will include fundraising, public relations, and alumni relations for the school.

 
One of my top priorities this school year will be to put more emphasis on our Annual Giving Campaign also known as The Gator Fund. As our Headmaster has previously stated, annual giving has become essential to the daily operation of our school. Did you know that tuition only covers roughly 85% of what it takes to run our school? Funding must come from other sources such as The Gator Fund. This fund allows us to:
 

Have exceptional academic instruction and curriculum.

Maintain a safe, secure, and beautiful environment for our children to spend their time.

Offer each child vast areas to develop his/her social, physical, artistic, leadership, and other individual skills.

Acquire and maintain excellent staff of teachers, faculty members, and administration.

Reduce annual tuition increases.

 
Giving to The Gator Fund shows your support and confidence in our purpose…”Inspiring Academic Excellence with Honor and Christian Influences”. In addition, greater participation is a major factor when we apply for other funding from outside sources such as grants and foundation gifts. A higher percentage of participation shows that our families and friends are serious about the quality of our school and our chances greatly improve to receive these additional funds.
 
Having had my husband, my mother-in-law and father-in-law graduate from Gatewood, and my three small children currently enrolled, I am very much vested in the advancement of this school. I want nothing more than to see Gatewood Schools continue to grow as one of the premier academic and athletic institutions around. With your help, I know that will happen. In closing, I would like to say that I am proud to be a part of this establishment as a faculty member and more so as a parent. Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with all of you.
